MATTERHORN: NO LADIES PLEASE!
Plot
In 1871 Lucy Walker, an experienced mountain climber and British aristocrat, wants to be the first woman in the world to climb the Matterhorn. Because of this, she encounters all sorts of resistance: she has to fight against the will of her parents, against her social class and last but not least against the gender-specific prejudices of her time.
But there is even more: the encounter with Lina, a young woman from Zermatt, moves Lucy not just to climb the Matterhorn but to move mountains…
In the summer of 2019 at 2,600 metres above sea level the highest open-air theatre in Europe will be taking place for the third time. With magnificent views of the Matterhorn, there’s yet another emotional and gripping story being played out on the Riffelberg.
